LuxCitizenship – End of Year Update & Holiday Schedule (2025)

As we approach the end of 2025, we want to take a moment to reflect on an extraordinary year for LuxCitizenship and to share our holiday operating schedule.

A Year of Growth and Milestones

This year marked a major milestone for our company:
on November 16th, 2025, LuxCitizenship celebrated its ninth anniversary since our founding.

Between November 16th, 2024 and November 16th, 2025, our team supported clients in launching 830 new applications for Luxembourg citizenship. What began as a small operation has continued to grow steadily: our dedicated LuxCitizenship team expanded from three staff members to six, allowing us to better serve clients around the world.

In addition to LuxCitizenship, 2025 was a year of entrepreneurial expansion for our parent company Connaissance Solutions LLC. We successfully launched two new ventures:

  • StartBrazil.com, helping people get permanent residency in Brazil through affordable investments in local startups
  • Citizenship.eu, our app designed to help people apply for dual citizenship through ancestry in 22 countries across Europe

We also celebrated the premiere of our first feature documentary, Lëtzebuerger an Argentinien (Luxembourgers in Argentina), which introduces the Luxembourgish diaspora story in Argentina to international audiences.

It has truly been a banner year across all our projects, and our team is looking forward to a well-deserved period of rest.

Holiday Operating Schedule

LuxCitizenship will operate on a limited schedule from December 24th, 2025 through January 5th, 2026.

During this period:

  • There will be no consultations. New client consultations can still be booked for any date after Jan 5th, 2026.
  • Limited Routine Email Responses – During the holiday period, we will do our best to keep up with urgent and billing related emails. All other routine email processing will be suspended.
  • Application Action Plans – From 12/24-1/5, we will have limited paralegal support. We will therefore do our best to maintain our 5 business day turn around time for recently sign ups who have submitted the following documentation for all family members by December 22nd:
    • All intake forms, and
    • Passport scans.

Please note that we consider Dec 24, 25 and 31st as well as January 1st holidays (not business days). For applicants who sign up after December 22nd, we will begin processing your application action plans after we return to normal operations.

Normal operations resume globally on January 6th, 2026.

Reminder: Article 89 Final Deadline – December 31, 2025

As previously published, the final legal deadline to submit applications under Article 89 of the Luxembourg Nationality Law is December 31, 2025.

Importantly:

  • No LuxCitizenship client who has signed up with us on or after January 1st, 2019 has ever been subject to this deadline.

However, we are encouraging all clients—regardless of article pathway—to submit their intake forms so we can produce application letters for each client to sign as early in the application process as possible. This ensures we have the sufficient materials in case of any future policy changes. At this time, we are not aware of any plans to change any of the other existing pathways to citizenship.

It should be noted that all Bierger-Center appointments for Luxembourg dual citizenship are filled through the end of the year 2025, independent of what pathway to citizenship you are applying on.

Final Case Review Session for 2025

For existing clients, we review applications on a rolling basis. You must have obtained all vital records from your document list we sent you in order to participate in the final case review session of the year. Our final case review session for the year will take place on December 16th, 2025.

To participate, clients must submit all vital records by December 12th, 2025.

As always, never ship or mail us any documents without first coordinating us first. You should only use shipping instructions directly sent to you by someone from our team.

From all of us at LuxCitizenship, thank you for being part of another remarkable year. We look forward to serving you again in 2026!

About the Author

Daniel Atz founded LuxCitizenship after recovering Luxembourg citizenship in 2014. He obtained his dual citizenship through his great-grandmother Marguerite Kruchten from Esch-sur-Alzette who moved to Leavenworth, Kansas after World War I. Daniel is originally from Omaha, Nebraska. He holds a BA in International Studies from Loyola University Chicago and studied European Business Law while at the École Supérieure du Commerce Extérieur in Paris, France. Daniel is a fluent French, Portuguese, and Mandarin speaker and also speaks some Luxembourgish. Before LuxCitizenship, Daniel worked for the Belgian-American Chamber of Commerce (BelCham). There, he brought over 200 Belgian small businesses and startups to set up and grow in the United States. Daniel has been repeatedly featured on Luxembourg national television (RTL) for stories relating to his dual citizenship. In 2017, through a stroke of luck, Daniel’s long lost Luxembourgish family saw a TV program featuring Daniel holding a photo of his great-grandmother. RTL’s camera crews followed Daniel around as he met his long lost Luxembourgish family
