Entre os efeitos do projeto de lei, foi inclu\u00edda a prorroga\u00e7\u00e3o do prazo final do artigo 89 da Lei da Nacionalidade Luxemburguesa de Mar\u00e7o de 2017. Aprovado por unanimidade o novo prazo para o Artigo 89 passar\u00e1 a ser 31 de Dezembro de 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Para que o projeto de lei se torne lei, o Conselho de Estado deve aprovar o pedido da C\u00e2mara dos Deputados para uma isen\u00e7\u00e3o de uma segunda vota\u00e7\u00e3o e depois o Gr\u00e3o-Duque Henri deve assinar. Estas duas etapas podem ser adiadas devido \u00e0s f\u00e9rias de Ver\u00e3o, embora normalmente levasse 2-3 semanas para estes dois acontecimentos. O prazo oficial s\u00f3 ser\u00e1 refletido a 31 de Dezembro de 2022 em websites governamentais como Guichet.lu, quando o Gr\u00e3o-Duque Henri assinar o projeto de lei.<\/p>\n<h2>Sobre o Artigo 89<\/h2>\n<p>Como lembrete, o Artigo 89 ou o processo em duas fases para recuperar a cidadania luxemburguesa aplica-se a indiv\u00edduos que tiveram um antepassado luxemburgu\u00eas de linhagem direta vivo em 1 de Janeiro de 1900 e que fizeram um pedido inicial ao Luxemburgo antes do primeiro prazo de 31 de Dezembro de 2018. Existem outros caminhos para a cidadania luxemburguesa que permanecem abertos para novas candidaturas hoje em dia. Estes processos para a cidadania t\u00eam crit\u00e9rios diferentes. O primeiro prazo do artigo 89 (31\/12\/2018) n\u00e3o ser\u00e1 reaberto por esta nova lei.<\/p>\n<h3>Linha do tempo da extens\u00e3o<\/h3>\n<p>O Governo Luxemburgu\u00eas anunciou inicialmente em Mar\u00e7o de 2021 que iria prorrogar o prazo do Artigo 89 at\u00e9 31 de Dezembro de 2022. Uma vez que o Governo tem a maioria absoluta na C\u00e2mara dos Deputados, a emissora nacional RTL e a Embaixada do Luxemburgo em Washington DC anunciaram em Mar\u00e7o que o prazo j\u00e1 tinha sido prorrogado at\u00e9 31\/12\/2022. Esta vota\u00e7\u00e3o torna-o oficial.<\/p>\n<p>A vota\u00e7\u00e3o de hoje \u00e9 a segunda prorroga\u00e7\u00e3o do prazo do Artigo 89 devido a restri\u00e7\u00f5es de viagens internacionais causadas pelo Covid-19. O prazo original para o Artigo 89 era 31 de Dezembro de 2020. Uma primeira lei foi votada pela C\u00e2mara dos Deputados em Junho de 2020, que prorrogou o prazo at\u00e9 31 de Dezembro de 2021. In 2017, through a stroke of luck, Daniel\u2019s long lost Luxembourgish family saw a TV program featuring Daniel holding a photo of his great-grandmother.
